Can you see the bus?

The road from La Paz to the Yungas in Bolivia which according a sign (proudly?)claims to be the most dangerous road in the world. It descends through spectacular and changing scenery, starting in the mountains and descending into tropical low lands. It passes through mountains, waterfalls and on to the jungle with many many steep drop offs and sharp turns and more than one truck to meet along the way!

Saturated and darkened to allow bettter visibility through the clouds to the valley behind. Would appreciated any suggestions with this one.

hahaha i laughed at the part about the sign! it's a pity the clouds messed up the top bit of the pic... perhaps you could try to crop that out? i think it could be saturated a bit more to make the colours stronger. besides that though, this looks like a pretty good shot, i like the composition, and it was perfect timing to get this shot when the bus was right there. it adds a sense of grandeur of the mountain and danger too! :)
an afterthought: you could also decrease the red or magenta saturation levels to make the cloud less pink and more white.

Wow - dramatic shot, Karina. Certainly looks scary. Magnificent scenery and I like your composition with the bus well positioned. I thought the shot could do with a little brightening so I've done a workshop - see what you think of it.

What a great photo. The bus taking up the whole road on a precarious mountainside, with the view of the valley far below. All you can think is that I hope that nothing coming around the corner.

Thank you for sharing.

Hi Karina, I have not visited that region of Bolivia but that road is famous in the whole country. Each year the abyss eats it load of camiones, this is why people stop at the first pass after La Paz to make donations to the gods and ask for their protection.
Viewing your photo though, it's quite easy to figure out that having the Pachamama on board may not be enough...

hello Karina.
quel bon titre !!!
la photo comme la route est impressionante. j'ai des frissons en pensant aux grosses pluies qui s'abattent sur ce coin.
tres jolie prise de vue.

Very good composition Karina. You could crop the top a little bit because we see nothing. Good work. See my workshop.

Buena captura, y muy bello lugar pero peligroso, un buen disparo...
well done

I found the workshop someone did on this first and had to have a look at the original. This photo took my breath away imagining going on the bus on this road! I think they'd have to put me to sleep to get me along this road.
The photo clearly portrays just why this is considered the most dangerous road.
I like it a lot!

What a beautiful scene. The green and blue colors dominate this photo. Its very sharp too, and you can see a lot of detail. Very good.

the shot shows that the road is something terrific!
The view is just fantastic, and I think that the mist adds its own magic, because is quite common there, so we can see a daily landscape :) Nice cropping.

Wow - Without looking at motif there's a fine graphics in this photo - I like the division in green and blue. The landscape amazing and the bus excellent as an extra element and to give us the dimension of this wonderful sight - thanks Karina, for letting us see this.

Reminds me of the road of sikkim, we were reaching 12,400 ft above sea level from the city of gangtok which is at about 7,000ft. We were heading to Natula Pass. It's a great shot - I guess which has been taken from a vechile running at higher altitude.

Great photo, you capture the vulnerability of the bus very well, I am almost scared to look at it.
I remember well this road, although when I travelled it it yet had to get its title of 'most dangerous'.In those days road was one way - transport leaving between 8-10 one direction and then maybe 2-4 in the other. This made it relatively safe, as the danger is when vehicles (and cyclists now) meet each other.
The drop is BIG, but for scariness is doesnt compare with many himalayan roads.

Vraiment impressionnant! Impossible de me faire monter dans ce bus! Le rendu du dénivelé est parfait... Brrrr!

Hi karina

nice shot, i feel the colours could have been a little sharper, the bus gives a subject to the picture and gives it scale which emphasizes the danger. Nice...

Hi Karina, Did you take the bus yourself? It is unbelievable. This is a very special picture and outstanding POV.

Hi Karina,

Just found this extraodinary shot.. Frightening
indeed but particularly good composition. I wish I had visited these places.. Take care - Izzet

Dangerious...beautiful..hence attracting...captured
it nicely..i find it similar to one of my picture of sikkim...

best,
atis

as a lover of the mountains i would certainly give you an 8 out of 10 though the upper part of the photo is not clear may be due to clouds.from this photo one can clearly get an idea of the height from where you have taken.a dangerous steep valley below reminds me of a shot taken in sikkim.

hI Karina
Incredible shot. The picture is very nice, but very very interesting too. Great ! Thanks
Bertrand

A marvelous image. I especially like the constrating green and blue! The hint of cloub at the top also gives this a good sense height.

Nice photo Karina. Good work!

Truly Impressive. The blurry color of the cloads on the top give something unrealistic.

Nicely seen Karina. One of my favs from your galery. :-)) I think I like the WS photo a bit better. Bala

WOW. So wonderful at the roof of the world.

Love your pic, Karina!
I read about this road... finally I see it!
When I was in Bolivia I didn't had the time to visit Yungas region so I leaved it...
Dramatic image with strenght!
A smile

Hi Karina
Great shot, with the yellow bus in that beautiful scene.Well captured moment.
-greetings Albrecht-

Aaaaahhhhhh...what a beaut.
How did you get up there?..on the bus?
Great snap,
Well done Karina.

Breathtaking... I guess it's better to have a stronger drink before taking off by the bus down there...

ai caramba!

Great photo of a scary road... it is just a shame the fact that the mist prevented you from capturing the background with as much quality as the foreground...

Good "work"
