Photographer’s Note
Saroke Beach with Lagundri beach in the background. Saroke is (or was) a world famous surfing mecca. I was content to walk around the beaches. This is only the 2nd upload ever, of Nias Island on TE. (Pulau Nias). The island was badly affected by the tsunami, with many fatalities, & is due west of Sibolga in Sumatra Utara. ('Utara' is the 'bahasa' word for 'north'.)

Another sad reminder of the catasrophe. Somehow it's the beauty of these shots that makes the event seem all the worse.

Hi Chris, a nice reminder image of a once beautiful place, I like here the houses (though I wished the photo could have expanded here somewhat to the left) with their private boat parking. It seems this photo has suffered somewhat from the scan and/or PP, it can be noticed looking at the 2nd boat and the water.

Very nice, I like a painting, the sand here is a little soft in focus, but I like it, well done

I am not so sure Chris that I like to see all those grand beaches and palms sitting up here in the dark north....
That said another very attractive presentation with good details like the boats there sheltered by the trees and the little hut. Well made compo.

A very old picture here Chris more than twelve year, but absolutely beautiful, a little grani because of the scan but the colours are very lovely, indeed the leaning trees look like they were watching tsunami coming. Excellent composition.
Greetings John.

Again a beautiful beach scene, and so sad to even begin to imagine what happened there on 12/26/04. Nice composing with all the ingredients to make for a pleasant and relaxing holiday scenery. It seems to me you pushed contrast up quite high on this one.

Good framing on this photo. I like the fact that we see the houses, the beach and the sea. The inclusion of the canoes is also very nice.
Dispite this I think there are some scanning problems in this because it increased the dramaticly the contrasts which lead to the lost of some details and resolution. But the main thing is framing and this one is nice.

Hi Chris!!!
Agrupar cores e formas estabelecendo um padrão agradavel e interessante em um quadro, não e uma tarefa facil para um fotografo. Aqui esta um belo exemplo de êxito. Otimo trabalho.
Abraços.
