Rush hour - Hoi An. One of my absolute favorite towns in the world (along with Mut, Egypt and Debark, Ethiopia).
4:00 PM. Sit down at a cafe, have a beer, and watch the world go bye. Hoi An is an absolutely fabulous place to do it too.

I have tried panning just recently and have come away with mixed results...certainly nothing I have got is as spectacular as this one. Superb sharpness and wonderful colors..the background is blurred perfectly...well done!

Hello John, you have certainly got this technique off to a tee and produced a very striking and pleasing image.

What can I say?? This is great panning! :-) The girl on the bicycle is so sharp, and I like her position in the frame. Well-done!

absolutely precise timing. I have tried this and have not succeeded. Fantastic colours too. Admirable result.

wonderful panning. That colorful cyclist seem to be suspended in mid-air. The light in the bokeh is stunning...did you alter it in the PP work?
giorgimer (34804) 2010-10-24 14:31
WOW! Great! Stunning effect by a perfect panning technique
Very well done!

So technically well done. Esthetically successful also. That's an example of the kind.

A great panning for sure! I really like the effect and the colours. You also placed the woman and the bike very well!
divail (8288) 2010-10-24 18:55
Supergement capté! Le jeune fille est étonnamment claire et nette. Elle semble flotter dans l'espace. Une grande photo.

It seems you're a panning specialist! But at 1/400 s, I think it's post processing. Nevertheless, the image is attractive.

Nice the result of the panning technique with the passing bicycle whish is placed perfectly in the compostion. The background is completly blurred and the subject is sharp. It gives the impression of speed and I like the colours of their clothes too. The glow of light falling at an angle is really awesome. A well presented shot. Well done. TFS

I've been experementing such pictures and you have done a marvelous job. Probably you were moving along with the subject ? Nonetheless, the sharpness on the subject and the blur effect around her is simply awesome. to your benefit, her dress color worked for you
mafegan (8624) 2010-10-31 4:32
Outstanding panning! The colours are great and this is an excellent composition. A favourite. Tfs, Marlene

this type of photography really interests me.
how did you achieve this paticular look?
is it a panning motion that you used?
looks fantastic, especially with the colours she is wearing
annjackman (18143) 2010-11-30 20:52
This is a great shot and love the panning. The colours of the girl's clothes and the streaky background are very attractive. The whole composition is excellent.
batalay (34795) 2010-12-01 5:11
This is a surpassing rendition of motion, the best I've seen in this genre. The cyclist is crisp and sharp, and the background a total blur.
papera (13918) 2010-12-01 13:25
I totally suck at panning, so when I see such a shot I can only stare and marvel :)
I love the almost liquid colours here, the woman on the bicycle is like a drop of pure paint...
my compliments for your impressive gallery!
