Photographer’s Note
The Gion matsuri is a 500 year old festival in Kyoto. 'Floats' are enormou, elaborate and heavy wooden carts that are pushed through the streets. Here a pause in the procession produces a watchful pose in this man as he waits for the signal to begin pushing again.

Andrew - Welcome to TE! I have the same name as you except in reverse for internet purposes only. This is a nice shot. The background is quite busy it distracts from the foregorund. I will try to give a suggestion thru the workshop.

His concentration is palpable through the profile shot you managed to get, Andrew. Stiff, on alert, while his companion on his right seems to be resting after a tiring effort.
I especially like your composition, right below the wooden bar, the eyes of your main protagonist on the same level with the gilded ornament on the chariot, well defined against a row of spectators in the background, blurred by the shallow depth of field.
Stark, sharp, interesting, meaningful... How could I ask for more? ;-)
