If heaven exist......., a photo from Bolzano, Trentino Alto Adige

Photographer's Note

Halfway the Brenner-Bolzano motorway,just after Brixen one must take a good look,because the tiny turnoff is very easy to forget.
A small brown plate tells me Im going into the extremely narrow Villnoss tal or Val di Funes (in Italian)valley.
After about half an hour,arriving at the end of it,in the village of St.Magdalena,the vieuw on the more than 3000m Dolomites is unforgetable.
Nobody around,exept for some local farmers....

This is really , for my taste , a picture of paradise on Earth . I canot find a more delightful view that this idyllic mountain scenery . What an harmony between the well maintained meadows , the woods , the hight peaks . And the tiny village so perfectly placed .
A gorgeous composition for a gorgeous place .

PS : I suppose that it must be wonderful in autumn , too , when the larches turn yellow , and the summits are covered by snow .

Quelle merveilleuse scène de campagne bien composée et excellente perspective. La petite église avec les quelques maisons qui l'entourent est bien placée dans la composition et la végétation est superbe. Les montagnes rocheuses derrière sont mafnifiques. Un beau tableau qu'on ne se lasse pas de regarder.

Hi Jan.
Well if you have a place like this you don't need heaven. What a landscape, what a mountain range. Perhaps only someone who knows where to turn off the road can take this kind of photo. Startling sharpness and gorgeous colours in this excellent exposure. There is a strong sense of vastness, of space, in this picture. Those rocky peaks against the well rendered sky - it's a great sight. I haven't seen a photo of these mountains before. Stunning.

i have been there two times during my last holidays but though the day was sunny i had not the chance to see these berautiful mountains (the Odle) as clear as you have seen.
the surrounding landscape is very nice you rendered the peace and the green that there is in the valley.

Dag Jan,

Dit is een totaal ander beeld of Brugge, een mooi panoralma beeld over dit gedeelte van Italië.
De grote bergen in de achtergrond deze laten het kleine dorp bijna in het niets vergaan.
Heel mooi samengesteld pracht foto werk.
U moet Brugge eens bezoeken, het is een kleinen stad maar bijna een open lucht museum, bedankt voor uw bezoek.

What a view!
If people didn't know of the beauty of Italy, you have certainly informed them! A stunning shot and beautifully composed. I love how the bottom of the 'v' shaped valley is on the 'thirds' line and presents a natural funnel into the contrasting b/g of the imposing Dolomites. The small village is strongly positioned.
A good dof and fine saturation.

Wow! What an amazing view, such stunning landscape and mountains...and you've captured is beautifully. Great light management, everything looks to be in fine detail with no hard shadows or over-exposed highlights. The colors appear natural and the composition is spot on to allow the scene to speak for itself.
