Photographer’s Note
The two subjects of the photo didn't realise they were being photographed. The location is Barnard Castle, north of the Yorkshire moors.
Situated on the banks of the river Tees, the market town of Barnard Castle is located on the site of an ancient Roman ford across the river. Known affecionately as "Barney" by residents and visitors alike, the town is proud of its cobbled streets, yards and back lanes first laid out in the 12th century.

Nice subject Bob, Though it looks a little too warm for me, a liitle too much red I think.
I would like to see it with a crop to the bottom just leaving the dark rock in, in the center foreground. Nicely picked out though, I like it.

Lovely picture. I like the warm character of colors - or perhaps: try minus 10 % red in the bright area. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely shot, I particularly like the light surrounding the mother and son. A lot of water in front that at first I would be tempted to crop up to the big rock but doing so it would eliminate the intimicy of this mother and son relation, being captured from a distance. Very well done. The colors are great too.

composition is great on this picture, there is a warm mood that makes it a lovely picture. I agree about the redness, maybe a little less red would make it even better.

I think the compositon and lighting you've found here are really good. I don't think I would change a thing.

Quelle superbe photo! Il me semble effectivement que la photo beneficierait d'un recadrage et d'un peu moins de rouge.
Great Shot! It seems to me that the picture would benefit from cropping and less red.

On sent le moment de complicité entre la mère et le fils. Beau paysage bien capté.
Peut-être un peu trop de rouge ?

A very beautiful and intersting pic (I like this dark river between you and them). The beginning aof a tale. Congratulation.

very good light, bob, & the subjects give a very gracious aspect to your so sentimental photograph.

Bob,
I like your photo but think that the cropping, sharpening and color could be better. I posted a workshop with an updated photo. I do like what you have captured. Marvelous.

Beautiful photo even without the mother and child. Nice detail in the water ripples and foreground. Looks like a classic Renior painting of mother and child without the fancy dress and umbrella! The quality of the color is very muted, but the light creates an interesting effect on the subjects and on the landscape. Good title too.

Sorry to appear cynical but this image looks like its been manufactured in photoshop. Very much like a cut and paste job.

Hey Bob,
thank you for this enchanted touch that seems almost unreal! I do agree it looks a bit too warm (reddish!) it really touches me and makes me dream! Wonderful picture! A-S L.

I like this image even though this "red overdose", I think it gives an extra touch, some kind of dreamy atmosphere.
To me it looks like a view to another reality, from a land of darkness into some kind of Arcadia.
