Photographer’s Note
The magnificent Registan is best visited early in the morning, when colours are fresh, shadows long and tourists absent. The square is dominated by grand entrance to the Madrassah Ulugbek (built over 500 years ago), whose imposing dimensions I found extraordinarily difficult to capture. Fortunately a local lady passed by and added some sense of scale.
