There are three stories behind this photo:
1. The beautiful stone work on the Alhambra outside walls. Looking at this gigantic and brute work nobody would say that inside the monument one could find the most delicate and complex work, either in tile, carving or painting.
2. The man and the cat. The tourist is eating his sandwich, probably brought from home, and the stray cat is patiently waiting for some left over. Cats can be found in most of the Spanish castles, as, like pigeons, they found out that as long there are tourists food will come along.
3. It is obvious that the bottom part of the photo is hazy and milky. This has to do with my lack of care when I received the camera back from my daughter. She had been taking pictures of our dog, and she got so close that the dog licked the lens. I failed to notice that there was a veil of saliva on the objective, so all my Granada photos have this kind of “dreamy” appearance.
