Photographer’s Note

This is the tower of Vor Frelsers Kirke (Church of Our Saviour) in Christianshavn, a part of Copenhagen.

The tower was designed by Laurids de Thurah and was built between 1748-1752. This tower isn't the original one of the church, which was consecrated in 1696. This new tower was opened in August 1752 by King Frederik V by going the whole way to the top, a walk which was made by Prins Joachim as well in 1996 after a big renovation. But they are not the only ones who has been on the tower. Every year about 60.000 tourists visit the tower, which is 90 metres from the ground to the flag.

I saw after having uploaded this picture that he's not very sharp and that there's quite a lot of noise, but the preview on my computer looked good...

Kewl tower Lars
The spiral on the tower makes the pic. Personly I have a little difficultirs with pix on high objects taken closely upwards. But this one works anyway because the spiral and that the top of the churchtower point up in a little unusual way.

Leuke foto van een mooie kerk:) Mooie kleuren, maar de foto is wat gespikkeld (maar dat komt door die camera natuurlijk).

Hej Tue - Du skriver godt dansk, så jeg prøver også. Tak for de mange detaljer omkring tårnet, du har gjort dit hjemmearbejde godt - tårnet er helt klart et besøg værd, men er kun åbent i godt vejr og om sommeren.

Tak for billedet - og ok kvaliteten kunne være bedre - men det er et svært motiv fra gaden - har prøvet og postet et selv som workshop.

Lars, si on fait abstraction du bruit dû au scan ou à l'appareil photo, c'est une photo qui a beaucoup de qualités : composition avec la diagonale, couleurs bonnes, sujet bien mis en valeur grâce au POV.
