Photographer's Note
This bronze statue is one of the last pieces of sculptary by Japan's greatest sculptor, Seibo Kitamura.
He visited Kawaguchiko at the age of 101 and speant 2 years making this statue.
He was affected by the lake and its surrounding area and I guess the view of Mt. Fuji and this statue is a result of the feelings he had for the place.
The vase portion of the statue is supposed to be the Lake Kawaguchiko as the fountain of wisdon, hope, life and plenty. The "Source" of life.
The 2 females around it are set to represent positive and negative. The woman on the left represents positive and the woman on the right represents negative.
The eternal drama of these two opposites come together to become one in the 'Source' flowing into the vase and out symbolizing the never ending occurance and renewal of life.
This note - or rather a more elaborate note was next to this statue.
I think I got most of it right. The interpretation of the statue is not mine, its of the sculptor.
This, by the way is number six in the Lake Kawaguchiko series. If you look closely you can actually see parts of the lake on either side of the picture.
Hope you guys like.

not bad at all this one, I like it, but I would have liked to see more of the water behind it and maybe eliminate the tree on the left. But I like the shadows and light, its only the background that needs a little work

A fine and different artwork you present for us here Dinyar - You got this with a good background - I like the mountain and the blue sky. May be the tree was better left off (or cloned away) - thanks for the excellent note as well - great job indeed.

Great image Dinyar, the silouette of the bronze statue against the blue sky, with on the background the splendid mountains. I like this excellent composition.
Well seen .

Very original statue representing the negative spirit and the posisitive spirit, here. Tou made also an excellent composition placing this statue above the mountains in the background and with the tree on the left. Bravo!

Is a good photo, however I think that the statue was better with a different enquadrement and perpective, giving more external landscape and reducing this impact of the statue. However is my own modest and way of point of view. Congratulations and regards!
