Taken on my recent trip to the Southwest in Monument Valley. I woke up early to catch the sun rise over the valley. Lucky me I was gifted by great clouds.

A classical landmark in a beautiful light, an amazing image. The contrast between the rock and sky is great and so is the composition. Maybe a tinny bit oversharpened, but just maybe.

Splendid light and composition, very well balanced and a great feeling of the huges spaces. There is a kind of mist enhancing the perspective. Classic but Wonderful shot !

Lumière splendide, un cadrage qui met en valeur l'enchainement des plans successifs.
Du grand travail. Bravo.

Excelent wall hanger, Pat. The colors are awesome. I can stand for a long time and view this image if it were on a wall.
Well done.
Gota shake the head a bit. The foreground monument is straight, yet the lines in the background and the clouds are on an angle wanting one to make it straight in photoshop. However, if one does that, the monument will be tippy. Nice one.

This is a great picture well done!! You were able to capture the mood this scene gives off... it's amazing. The clouds how they almost look like they are still moving. And the Vivid reds, oranges and yellows coming off the monuments... I like how you were able to catch the rising of the sun, OFF of the rocks. GREAT CAPTURE!

yep, light and clouds are perfect. Funny I live here but have been reluctant to pay for the Navajo guides. Did you? Were you in a group? great shot.

Very beautiful shot Pat! Wasn't able to visit it during my stay there in AZ, so I'm thankful for your pic. Framing and clarity are great, and yes, you were lucky to have nice clouds and proper lighting. Good angle too! Thanks for sharing.

What a nice picture ! Th light is wonderful and give beautiful colours, well contrasted by the weather and the dark clouds. It's very well done

Great shot ! Beautiful landscape captured, nice exposition.

hmm... excellent colors. You made me realise that the best time to go there would be definately late autumn. As the colors will as deep and great as on your photo. Excellent wokr. L.

Very nice warm colors and light. Good composition !

Another excellent capture, the composition is fantastic. The light is special, but the border is to thick for my liking.

Hi Pat,

Everything's perfect in this shot but I was not able to understand why you used a F22 aperture, did you need such a large depth of field when everything stays so far or a movement of the clouds perhaps ?

Wonderful colours & the composition, with each of the columns arranged just left of the previous one, is excellent.

Quelle lumière magnifique ! Ce paysage est magique.
Marie

wish i can go there one day
