Photographer’s Note

Gare de Lyon Saint-Exupéry, presso l'omonimo aeroporto di Lione. ebbene si, ancora Calatrava...
per l'occasione ho rispolverato il mio 28mm, che da quando uso il 50mm e l'85mm non vede la luce del sole - nonostante l'eta', mi sembra se la sia cavata bene.
il cielo era plumbeo, il cemento a vista grigio - non mi sembrava il caso di lasciare questa foto a colori...
PS: la macchia nel cielo e' un aereoplano e non un piccione gigante.

yes, you've guessed it - it's Calatrava again...
to capture the whole depth of the constructions I used my old 28mm, who hasn't seen the light outside my backpack since I bought the 50mm and the 85mm - it's an old lens but I think it did a good job here.
I chose to convert mostly because the sky was dark and the concrete gray, so there was no point in leaving the image in colour...
and yes - the spot you see in the sky is an airplane.

proprio ora che ho finito le faccine verdi da Hulk! E' veramente bella questa coincidenza, pensa che stavo per postare altre foto, sempre dal MAXXI ma molto diverse da quella...anyway, giù il cappello per Calatrava, un altro architetto che amo moltissimo e complimenti per uno scatto che mostra dettagli importanti dall'inizio alla fine, sui chiari e sugli scuri. Il primo piano è impressionante....tirata d'orecchie...che è 'sta storia del 28 mm impolverato???? Attendo una risposta...
ps. lo conosci Tadao Ando? che ne pensi?

Hello Cristina,
Surtout arranges toi pour toujours avoir sur toi le 28 mm ! A mon avis un 28, 50 et 85, c'est parfait. En attendant le graphisme est splendide, et il n'y a qu'un grand angle qui te permets d'obtenir cette perspective. Comme tu le dis dans ta note, la couleur n'aurais pas apporté plus à cette vue, le B & W est donc très judicieux ! L'alternance ombre / lumière est parfaite, ça donne un super contraste.

Come dice Luciano,
stasera la gallery abbonda di belle foto in B/n: la tua non poteva mancare in un'occasione come questa.
Il 28 lo dovresti usare più spesso, esalta le prospettive.

Bellissima e terribilmente angosciosa, Cristina, questa tua immagine. Potrei scrivere uno dei miei gialli, iniziando da qui: la ripetitività della massa di cemento incombente, lo squarcio improvviso che mostra solo un aereo (o un piccione gigante?) che vola via. Tutto il resto é solo solitudine e silenzio. Poi arriva una donna che cammina con incedere tranquillo. Non sa di essere seguita da un uomo: il suo assassino...
Ecco, il giallo é partito!

Vedo che ci dai dentro con questi exercice de style.
Qui vedo un ottimo grafismo, ma soprattutto mi piace la resa che ottieni con la conversione in bianco e nero.

Hello Cristina,
You have shown two fine pieces of architecture photography the last couple of days. In both cases a lot of credit goes to Mr Calatrava, no doubt, but a photographer with no eyes for the subtleties of the lines and shapes, and in this case the play of light and darkness, could have ruined it all. You have done a very good job. And I do like the inclusion of the airplane!

Ciao Cristina,
sono ormai tre anni che passo davanti alla costruzione di calatarava qui a Roma, ma non si muove niente, in questi giorni stanno tirando su delle strutture di acciaio, chissa' quando anche io riusciro' a fotografare qualcosa di calatrava qui a Roma, per il momento mi gusto questo movimento di luci ed ombre, con lo splendido panorama sullo sfondo.

Questa immagine esalta le tue qualità e il tuo intuito di buona fotografa! Un occhio sempre attento allo stile, alla composizione al senso della grafica! Ottima, in questo caso, la scelta del bianco e nero che fa apprezzare le varie gamme e sfumaturte dei grigi e i contrasti fra luci ed ombre!

The abstract symmetry and contrast of the B&W are very appeling to me. I love this style of image. This is a very good theme and you gallery is excellent.
