Photographer’s Note

Georgetown’s narrow streets and alleys in the inner city are often cramped with all kinds of vehicles. What ever catches your imagination, you will find it on the roads of Georgetown. Apart from the usual trucks, buses, cars, motorcycles and bicycles there also are rickshaws, pushcarts even pedestrians. It’s a mad house, but everybody is used to the gridlock, made worse by double parking – it’s forbidden, but everybody does it – hawker carts like this ethnic Indian with his pushcart. After working he now returns to his home, walking all the way.

Another fine urban shot of this busy street.

Bonjour Urs,
Belle photo de cette rue très animée. Ici, cela se passe pas différemment. La circulation est très réglementée. Cette année, nous avons à nouveau un seul triporteur dans la ville qui fait les livraisons (très économique, car il n'y a pas besoin d'essence).

un angolo di vita ben colto in cui mi piace il contrasto tra l'auto e il carrettino spinto a mano.
Negozio sullo sfondo pieno di giocattoli colorati che danno vivacità alla scena.

An another scene of life rich in details and in colors very well collected. I like the framing with the "cycle vehicle" between the two modern cars, a very interesting contrast.

Hello Urs,

An exotic mix of all and everything!
A lot of details to explore, and all the time you find new things in the frame...
The star of the show is of course the guy with the cart, but I also notice the shop on the corner selling stuff for kids and probably a lot more!
