Lione ha una notevole reputazione nell'ambiente culinario e gastronomico - e a ragione. il livello medio dei ristoranti e delle brasserie e' molto alto, e per chi come me ama il cibo, la sua preparazione, la presentazione e tutto quello che vi ruota intorno, assistere dal proprio tavolo al funzionamento preciso ed efficiente di una tipica cucina francese e' un'esperienza quasi esaltante. stasera sono stata fortunata - nessun cuoco mi ha preso a padellate mentre scattavo.

Lyon has an outstanding reputation in the culinary field, rightly so if one thinks of the many chefs this region has produced so far. the average level of restaurants and brasseries is high and if you (like me) love food and everything that revolves around its preparation, presentation and consumption, sitting at a table that gives you the possibility of observing the clockwork functioning of a typical French kitchen is a real treat. I was lucky tonight - the cooks didn't bang their pans on my head while I was shooting.

ammazza che bella, Cris! Sei in formissima in questo periodo, pienamente e bellamente ispirata. Questa foto emana buoni profumi, l'umido dei fumi, parole sommesse in francese, forse, vocio di gente..è una foto vera. Magari una sera ci provo anche io qui a PT durante la mia trasferta senza fine...

Mmmm....this is a great shot. Action, in a peek-through setting, which makes a great composition. Also the bl/w is wonderful here. Thumbs up for this one, Cristina. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Cris, You know i can not resist this soft grain approach, i think the simulation technique you have mastered is better than T-max ever was.You have conveyed well the mood of the kitchen, the steam in particular. I also note a rare sighting of a head on figure, a not too common occurrence in your photographs. Thanks Tom.

I dont have a habit of looking at names..its only after the frame i look beneath to find out who it is..

at first glance this looked like a post from george..with huge chunks of off focus area and fg bokehs and black frame..

i like this one cris.."b/w film simulation: Kodak Tmax" - youve made it sound like an option goes by that name in PS for conversion

Superbe ambiance ! En plus je vois que tu as utilisé ton 85 mm à pleine ouverture, le résultat est splendide. J'aime vraiment ce flou environnant, qui permet de se concentrer sur les gestes du cuisinier. La vapeur sur la droite donne un vrai plus dans ce cadrage très étudié. Très réussi, un grand bravo à toi !

Hello Cristina,

I previously noticed this photo, but I took time to comment it; I should have done it before.
Nice B&W with a good simulation of the old B&W films, especially with the rendering of the grain.
But more, it is the scene by itself and the good composition which are giving the strengh to the photo. Although there are a lot of elements in the frame, it is still easy to read. I like this photo-reporter point of view making us participate to the cooking.
