Photographer’s Note
I stayed with friends in central Sri Lanka, last year. The villages of the area are very poor and shabby. Sri Lanka has failed to develop because of a 20 year long, vicious, civil war and terrorist champagne, which, happily, is now over. However, the people are gracious, gentle and proud. Like many Asians the have a simple joy of living, that we don't find in more developed countries. I took some picture of the life of the villages, most of which were not good, because my camera malfunctioned (well! I dropped it) Here is a typical merchant from the market, selling his fish. It shows something of the people who live in Aranayake. He looks happy and friendly. The fish look pretty fresh too!

Did you buy the fish Kevin?
Sorry to hear about the camera - excuse for a new one? Another good daily life photo and a good portrait to boot.
cheers
Ian

Hi Kevin,
The eye of the fish doesn't look too fresh! A funny capture of the proud fishmonger! He has a nice friendly expression and the framing of the all scene is well done, with scale and more fish in sight.
Greetings from Phnom Penh
Laurent
