View Under the Pont Neuf Photo

Photographer’s Note

One afternoon the late sunlight was fantastic, and I took full advantage of it to wander around the heart of Paris with camera in hand. This shot was taken from the Ile de la Cite, looking west through an arch of the Pont Neuf to the Pont des Arts (a pedestrian bridge), and beyond it to the Louvre and to the trees - finally showing their fall colors - along the Quai du Louvre. (I was not actually walking on the water; I just leaned out over it verrrry carefully.)

Hello Dan
The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris. Its name, which was given to distinguish it from older bridges that were lined on both sides with houses, has remained !
This view, with the bridge of the Arts and the Louvre is an image which symbolizes parfaitemnt Paris.
A beautiful reflection of the bridge on the Seine,a pity that the circle is not complete! (Caution not to fall into the water?).

That is such a cool picture, Dan.
I LOVE that view through the arch and the way the dark inside makes such a great frame. Wonderful light and color on the scene in the distance and good detail. There are so many outstanding lines and curves and angles... That really is cool. Well done! Many thanks and warm regards,

Hi Dan,

A very nicely framed image through the arch — indeed, I particularly like the manner in which you presented the "entrance" and the "exit" of the arch, but I cannot believe that you were not walking on the water to get this vantage point.
