Photographer’s Note
Hi, my old and new TE friends!
The prodigal son has returned home - that's me after a long absence from your community:)
I've just returned from a week spent in the magnificent city of Barcelona - the capital of Spain's province of Catalonia. Hehe, I thought I could understand Spanish, but it turned out that I could only speak but could hardly understand what they spoke. Barcelona spoke Catalan which was miles away from the Spanish I knew and which they called Castellano...
Now about the photo. One of the many landmarks of Barcelona is the monument of Christopher Columbus. The statue of this great man points to America. Inside the monument there is a 60 meters high lift, leading to an observation chamber. Alas, when I visited the place, the lift was in repair. The monument was enveloped in yellow slogans. The one that was roped to the pointing hand of Columbus said:
CLIMATE
CHAOS
WHO
IS TO
BLAME?
There are thousands of photos of this monument. Yet, I'm not sorry that I could not shoot it in it primal view. It's more interesting this way, isn't it?

Hello Anton,
Indeed there are thousands of photos of this monumental column with the statue of Christopher Columbus. But thanks to the two men on this photo we finally get a much better idea of the enormous size of the column. The banners with slogans and the men also add more colour to the picture of the column.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Anton!
Welcome back! I was wondering where you were:))!
You were lucky to be able to photograph this monument in a different way, I like this. You framed it very well and the slogans and the men still working make it perfect. Seems the weather was also fine!

Good morning Anton! Welcome back! ;-)
Yes you are right - the monument is much more interesting in this way because the main problem of mankind is shown here, change of climate. A really eye-catching photo! Concerning these two men I must say "Hats off!"
Greetings from grey and wet Germany!

Olá Anton!
Здравейте Антон!
Welcome again! Добре дошли отново!
Very interesting photo-document, like a photo of a newspaper about the event.

Yes, my friend, in Catalonia they call themselves a country (not a province). And Catalan is indeed another language, different from Castilian (Spanish), like French is different from Italian.
Best greetings from Portugal.
Довиждане,
Francisco
