Photographer’s Note

Hi, my old and new TE friends!
The prodigal son has returned home - that's me after a long absence from your community:)

I've just returned from a week spent in the magnificent city of Barcelona - the capital of Spain's province of Catalonia. Hehe, I thought I could understand Spanish, but it turned out that I could only speak but could hardly understand what they spoke. Barcelona spoke Catalan which was miles away from the Spanish I knew and which they called Castellano...

Now about the photo. One of the many landmarks of Barcelona is the monument of Christopher Columbus. The statue of this great man points to America. Inside the monument there is a 60 meters high lift, leading to an observation chamber. Alas, when I visited the place, the lift was in repair. The monument was enveloped in yellow slogans. The one that was roped to the pointing hand of Columbus said:

CLIMATE
CHAOS
WHO
IS TO
BLAME?

There are thousands of photos of this monument. Yet, I'm not sorry that I could not shoot it in it primal view. It's more interesting this way, isn't it?
