Photographer’s Note
I know...this is one of the most popular views of NYC from Top of the Rock (highly recommendable and better than the Empire state building). Still I have to post it, because the sight was breathtaking. And in contrary to the rest of Manhattan... tripods are allowed here !

Hello Christian.
I've been checking this serie around NY, and I must confess it's among the best works I've seen lately.
This one might be a classic view but the quality of your exposure and the composition are flawless.
Looking at this we have the sensation of being in the middle of a sea of lights.
The quality of the details is superb and it really has its place among the others you've been showing IMO.
Cheers.

Hello Christian,
I agree with you, Top of the Rock is much better than the Empire State Building. :-) You have produced a flawless NYC classic with this photo. I love the way the Chrysler Building and Empire State poke out above the other skyscrapers, and the splash of color in the sky is beautiful.
As you mentioned in your critique of my photo, it's too bad we didn't know each other previously, but if you ever come back to NYC, feel free to get in touch. :-)

Molto bella questa immagine notturna, con tutte le luci accese.
Se penso che a noi dicono di spegnere il led rosso della tv per risparmiare !!!

oh, i read your notes about the difficulties of using a tripod in NYC. but all your works were definitely worth the effort and troubles. they would sell, at least, i would buy :)

Hi, Christian -
Of course it's better than the Empire State Bldg - it has a view of the ESB! Classic, yes, but better done than many such shots I've seen. And the bit about allowing tripods is useful, too.
Best,
Dan

Bonsoir Christian
Beautiful. The timing could not be better. The sky is dark but not black. The buildings are perfectly lit.
I like it a lot
Bravo

Hi Christian,
of course you gotta have those shots! The view is indeed breathtaking! The bit of red in the sky adds the contrasting touch to it. Good job.
Best,
Philippe

Beautiful! I like the combination of calmer upper part with wonderful colors of setting sun and busy lower part with numerous windows with lights on...and it seems like the red lights of Empire State Building melt into the reddish part of the sky connecting those two different worlds.

hi Christian
I like this shot, a massive jungle of lightened buildings.
the angle is unusual as we can peek the Chrysler behind the buildings and the Empire stands out nicely. to me the image is a little bright, may be less exposure would define more the windows on the building and highlight better the outlines. Also it may be the angle but it looks like there is a tilt, although the horizon seems right.
Anyways.....a nice shot

Hi Christian
It is such a beautiful view. Like here, I find such cityscapes most impressive at dusk when you have all the window lights. Pretty pink touch to the sky too.
Regards
Nikki
