Warm Evening Light Photo

Photographer’s Note

While down at one of my favorite places, the Cheam Wetlands the other night, I came upon this stunning autumn color scene. Actually I was there checking out the just arrived Trumpeter Swans. In fact, I was mostly looking in a westerly direction when I heard a small flock of swans approaching from behind. It was then that I noticed the last remaing sun of the day "painting" the trees to the east - it almost took my breath away! The moral of the story is to be sure to look all around because you never know what beauty may be at your back? For more of my images, check out my website at www.geraldneufeldphotography.com

it just goes to show its often the photo we didn't expect to capture that turns out to be the best.

the natural light shinning on the middle area is just superb!
and the mountanous backdrop adds to the overall appeal here.

Hi, Gerald. The light on the trees is stunning, their orange hues stand out very well against the dark side of the mountains and their reflections double our pleasure. The grassy triangle in the right foreground gives a very good depth to the image. It must have been a great moment.

l'encadrement noir fait très bien ressortir les couleurs puisssantes et feu de l'automne. Elles se refletent admirablement bien. La nature est capable de beauté avec laquelle l'oeuvre de l'homme ne peut égaler.

This last sun rays deserved more attention, perhaps, than a flock of swans! (:-)
The sceney is so fine with the stillness of the water working as a perfect mirror for these extraordinary reflections. The composition is perfect: nothing out of place and one is stricken by the blessed atmosphere.

(By the way... some years ago I met a Canandian couple who came here (Sardinia) with their sailing boat. They spent a whole winter here so I brought them a bit around to show them some interesting places. One day, visiting a small town, they looked at each others and then told me: "But if you come to Canada what can we show you?" (:-) Amazing question! Just browsing your gallery this question found an obvious answer!)
