Belated Fourth Birthday Photo

Photographer’s Note

On Friday I was looking forward to celebrating by 4th TE birthday but unfortunately TE didn't want to join the party. Anyway here it is.

Undecided about whether to post nature or graphics, I went for both.

The Lower Antelope Canyon is much less visited than the Upper Antelope Canyon for a couple of reasons: 1: you don't get the rays of sunshine filtering through as much and 2: it's harder to visit being very narrow in some parts as well as climbing down and up ladders. A local Navajo guide leads you down and waits at the exit (here) to accompany you on the hot walk back to the carpark. Having to wait a long time for Toni who underestimated the distance and who was distracted by the beauty of the place, I waited at the end having fun with the shadow of the exit ladder.

Vendredi, je me rejouissais de célébrer mon 4e anniversaire sur TE mais TE ne voulait, malheureusement, pas être à la fête. Mais voici-le.

Pas décidée de poster nature ou graphiques, je suis allée pour les deux en même temps.

Le Lower Antelope Canyon est beaucoup moins visité que l'Upper Antelope Canyon pour deux raisons: 1: il n'y a pas les rayons de soleil traversant et 2: c'est très étoits à beaucoup d'endroits et des échelles raides à descendre et à monter. Un guide Navajo vous accompagne jusqu'à la sortie et attend pour vous accompagner lors de la promenade sous la chaleur jusqu'au parking. Devant attendre longtemps pour Toni qui sousestimait la distance et qui était distrait par la beauté du lieu, je m'amusait en photographiant l'ombre de l'echelle de sortie.

et bien un bon TE anniversaire à toi! C'est toujours un plaisir de voir apparaître tes photos. J'aime bien le double aspect nature/graphique que tu as choisi ici...on se demande bien ce que cela peut être! L'effet est réussi.

I didn't get to Lower Antelope when I was there in Sept but I did get into Rattlesnake Canyon and Owl Canyon with a Navajo guide of course. I like the graphic shot you have given us. A man made graphic against the lines provided by nature.

Hi Nikki, computer probs over now, so happy belated birthday. An excellent one to celebrate with all these textures and tones. It looked like an aboriginal work of art in thumbnail. Nice spotting here, the graphism is superb and you have combined it wonderfully with the natural landscape. Très bon anniversaire (moi aussi je suis en retard!)
J'aime beaucoup! tu connais ma passion pour les ombres et particulièrement les ombres aussi graphiques.
On s'interroge vraiment avant d'avoir les explications. Le fond avec cette roche si étrange est comme un tissu, d'ailleurs l'ombre tourne sur les ondulations de la roche comme un rideau dans le vent.
Une image très originale qui montre le besoin de recherche que tu mets dans tes photos.
Bravo et continue de nous régaler!
