Photographer’s Note
Mexican Hat is an unusual balancing rock resembling an upside down sombrero. The top rock is 18 meters wide, perched precariously on a small base. Nearby is the San Juan River whose canyon has helped erode the rocks for millenium.
Mexican Hat is viewable from Utah Highway 163 west of Bluff.

Hi Ray
Interesting rock formation! Utah looks like a great place for photography. I can see the potential in the colour here. Perhaps a little more saturation and contrasting. However, I also like the natural appeal of your shot.

Hi Ray
I was here a couple of months ago and it is quite a site. Nicely done to compress the BG and FG together.

Hello Ray,
Indeed, a Mexican sombrero put upside down. The top of the sombrero (the point on which it rests) looks quite small. I don't know how long this rock will be able to stay like that. On the other hand perhaps it's already a thousand years like that ...
The arid surrounding looks very impressive. No vegetation at all to detect.
Best regards, Paul
