Photographer’s Note
Off the Road from Colombo to Kandy, runs a muddy, rocky track, beside the river. It leads up towards the mountains and eventually to the Village of Dippittiya. One the way, are several poor, little villages, one of with is Ussapativia. Not much seems to happen Ussapativia and the arrival of a strange foreigner with a camera might be the most exciting event of the day. I stopped off there to capture the life and excitement of high street life in the afternoon. I hope I might be the first to post a picture of this village on TE. There can't be many more such places left.It just illustrate something of the sort of rural vilages, in which millions of Sri lankans live.

Hello Kevin,
An interesting daily life image of this sleepy village. I like the pose adopted by the man whilst the dog looks nonchalantly on. The tuk-tuk introduces a splash of colour to the otherwise rather drab surroundings. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kevin!
Seems your camera has made him really happy!I like the way you captured his pose, his tuk-tuk and the dogs. All that publicity hanging on the store is also a great detail. This places have always so many details to be seen!

A great snippet of local life Kevin,
The lazy dogs the proud man (business owner or 3 wheeled limousine owner I wonder?) the battered looking buildings - good colour.
cheers

Hi Kevin,
Doesn't look too much like Pyremont does it.
Good shot, you tell the story well.
What a proud man he is, standing there with out a care in the world.
Regards
Peter
