Longing for Baja Beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

If there is one place I'd like tom be in what they call here on TE The Netherlands on this dark, wet and grey november morning, it is the place you see on the photo: Baya Beach on the end of Caracas Bay on the wonderful island of Curacao. It must be night there but still 25 degrees Celsius.

Netherlands ? the thumbnail was intriguing . OK ! This wiew of this beach of the Antilles is really pleasant , during , as you say , these rainy and grey days in Western Europe .

a nice and picturesque place with great perspective and POV.The long beach, lead the eye to the tower on the far end of the scene.The colourful construction in the middle of the frame makes the image more interesting.Well done.

Hi Gerrit,

When I first read "Netherlands", I was scratching my head trying to figure out how come there is some relief and palm trees over there... :-P)

Surely not an usual beach scene with that nice fort in the background. I like the angle of view, using the shore to anchor your composition in the left lower corner.

A very attractive composition of this tropical bay. I like the way the shoreline sweeps round the frame directing the eyes towards the tower. Good natural looking colours and excellent sharpness.

I like the long, sweeping curve of the tropical beach, which add superb lead in lines. Good colour & sharpness, & the people on the sand provide scale. Tfs!

i fully agree with your note specially because it's rainy and windy here and looking at this mild atmosphere I just want to jump into the monitor and go there.
This place is a beauty with the bay, the palm trees and the rocks that surround it, and the wooden construction which must be giving support to those who go to this beach.
What are those constructions we see on background, specially that round tower in the left side of the photo?

A fine veiw of an interesting place not often seen. This beach has many points of interest: the lovely palm trees at the right, the tower and cliff on the left and those colourful huts at the center. It must be a nice place to spend a holiday.
Good composition, clear and with a fine sense of perspective.

I do understand perfectly you'd prefer to be in Baja beach instead to be in Amsterdam during the cold months ;)
It is luminous and well presented...the tower in BG makes me think there were a fortress. The colours are nice too!

A beach very different from the Portuguese who have large expanses of white sand.
