Pasar Malam in Alor Star Photo

Photographer’s Note

Every Tuesday and Wednesday is Pasar Malam or night market in front of the Pacific hypermarket in Alor Star. In late afternoon the traders come and set up their stalls at the parking lot. There are some dress and accessories traders, but most sell food to eat at tables nearby or to take home, Among the highlights certainly are the charcoal grilled Satays which can be smelled from a distance. There also is a vegetable, seafood and beef section of the market. Malaysians have a real love affair with their Pasar Malam which can be found even in villages. It’s a meeting place and the locals enjoy it a lot. You meet your friends like it used to be in the villages, to have to drink or eat something.
