Seto-Ohashi bridge got operation begun from starting constructing in 1978 in the bridge where Okayama Prefecture Kurashiki City in the Mainland and Kagawa Prefecture Sakaide City in Shikoku were connected through years of about ten years in 1988. The motoring road in four lanes starts in the upper part of the bridge, and the lower side is a structure of two stories that the railway of JR runs. Six bridges laid between five islands are composed by the elevated bridge connected with them, and it has the extension of 13.1km. This is the longest in the world as the bridge of the railway road using together. The latest technology in the world was introduced into this bridge, and "Bottom of the sea wireless blast" and "Installation caisson industrial method", etc. were put to practical use. 1.13 trillion yen hung in the total cost of construction.
