Photographer’s Note

I took this photo on a one-day trip to Venice. Two opposites are gracing the waters of the Venetian Lagoon.

There's absolutely no information on the first "ship" and its owner as I couldn't make out her name (in this case the size did matter).

The other beauty is proudly sporting the name of Queen K, and this time there's much more information about this "lady".
Built in 2004 and refitted in 2006 by the Lurssen Yachts shipyard in Germany, the Queen K (formerly known as Queen M) is 238.20ft/72.60m long with a 44.30 ft / 13.50 m beam and is currently ranked #66 in the World's Largest Yachts 2009 List. The interior design is executed by Espen Oeino - Donald Starkey Designs. Superyacht Queen K is able to accomodate up to 18 passengers with 21 crew members. Her maximum speed is 18 knots.
The Queen K belongs to Russian aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska and last year she made the news by becoming the scene for a political scandal in the British Parliament involving Lord Mandelson.

Despite the obvious disparity in their social status both vessels feel quite comfortable side by side against the majestic background with the 17th sentury Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. It looks like it doesn't matter much if you're the size of a peanut or your outline can block the view of half the square -
Big or small - Venice loves all:)
