California Light House at Boca Catalina, Aruba

Aruba beaches are the most important attraction on the island. The California Light House is located close to the Arashi Beaches on the north west side of Aruba. It is called the California lighthouse because of the off-shore sunken shipwreck the “California”.

A fine composition of this lighthouse captured under a good ambient light. The visitors give a good sense of scale as to its height. The clouds and that lovely blue sky help create a particular mood. Very good colours and sharpness.

Despite the lighting of the sun was not on your side you have made a good photo of the lighthouse with good colors and details, the blue tones go great with your frame. The inclusion of persons and cars add scale to this magnificent shot. A photo very well achieved with a wonderful composition, beautiful sky, good sharpness and excellent POV.

Hi Achim,

The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view takes my eye toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. It is also showing the details and colors of the California light house. The late morning light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hallo Achim,
gutes Bild von dem Leuchtturm und seinen Besuchern. Schön wie die diagonal verlaufende Straße das Auge zum Leuchtturm führt. Licht und Farben sind toll und der teilweise bewölkte Himmel bildet einen passenden Hintergrund. Die Besucher bringen etwas Leben in diese doch eher abgelegene Gegend und vermitteln ausserdem noch ein gutes Gefühl für die Größenordnung. Gut gemacht, gefällt mir.

The vertical highthouse arise very well in this ... horizontal composition very well ballanced. Superb blue sky with plesant clouds very well collected. The peopels give an element of life and especially an interesting idea of the sacle of the edifice.

What an imposing lighthouse and rendered with even more importance from your low pov. I like how you have composed it, with the road emerging b/r/h corner to the off-centre focal image. The people add interest and they add scale.
The sky, with its array of low, fluffy clouds, makes a fitting b/g.
