non lontano dalla torre della televisione che ho postato ieri si trova il famoso Municipio Rosso (Rotes Rathaus), sede del comune di Berlino (o meglio, del suo senato). il nome si spiega da se'.
gravemente danneggiato durante i bombardamenti della seconda guerra mondiale, fu ricostruito nello stile originale dopo il conflitto e trovandosi nel settore sovietico rimase anche ai tempi della DDR sede del comune di Berlino.

not far from the TV tower on Alexanderplatz is the Rotes Rathaus, the "red town hall" home to the Senate of Berlin and its mayor. as you can see, the name comes from the red clinker bricks which cover the facade.
heavily damaged during WW II, it was rebuilt after the conflict and being located in the (former) Soviet sector, it continued to host the municipality of Berlin during the DDR period.
