Photographer’s Note

This is the St. Andreas Church in Nesselwang, Ostallgäu, Bavaria. According to historic records, the first church here was built in the early Middle Ages. During the Gothic period, a larger church was built and later destroyed in the Thirty Year War.

In the last quarter of the 17th Century, the church was re-constructed with this elegant dome which was preserved. What we see today was the result of renovation from 1904 to 1906 in elaborate neo-baroque style.

This was taken on a wonderful afternoon in October, when Mark and I decided to go out shooting. We started at the Grüntensee (I'll show you that soon) and ended up here. This stop in Nesselwang was in between. We had such fun! And it really is wonderful to actually live where people go on vacation. This is less than a 30 minute drive from home!
