Photographer’s Note

A quick switch to my homeland, Laos. A dear friend here on TE who is visiting this area of my homeland will be returning home to Spain soon, and I like to welcome him home with this image. It is alos a last post before I took off for two weeks and this image will also welcome me when I return. This is also a very nostalgic image for me, A life style that was familiar to me when I was younger, yet it’s strange to me now. It was over 20 years ago since I left Laos. Being back there is like being caught between dream and reality.

Just around the corner of Li Phi Waterfall in Don Khon in Si Phan Don,
I was there to watch the sunset. The sound of the waterfall so deafening and perpetual, yet it felt calm and peaceful. I was awed by such beauty that surrounded me. Follow the direction of the river flow toward the sunset you can see many local along the edge of the water catching fish with nets as the fish jumping upstream. This only happen when the water level is low in January, in the dry season. During this time the river is not as muddy as in the rainy season.

Thank you for your comments, if I don’t get to it, I will catch up with everyone when I return.
