Photographer’s Note

A photo from a local festival of artisans in the Russian city Novosibirsk. There were many artisans, representing different regions of Russia in the festival. Some brought artwork, some handcraft materials, some hand-processed food, some hand-knit clothes.

Although becoming scarce in the world, it is still possible to find quite natural food in Russia. Some parts of Russia (such as Urals) are famous for its honey.

I like the different tones of honey in the picture and the posture of the salesman, who looks quite proud of what he offers to his clients.

Very nice! So much honey at one place! I have been still wondering how many kinds of honey exist in the world ;-) I am sure I have not tried a half (or even third) of the kinds presented here...

Very nice photo of the many versions of honey. You are right, the salesman looks quite proud. I'm always fascinated by the way honey can be so different depending on where it is produced, and judging by this man's wares, he must collect honey from some pretty divergent spots. This is a great regional photo.
