Photographer’s Note

A lush lakeside scene at Lake Hovsgol. The yaks are enjoying the green grass in summer, while they can. This lake is frozen solid in winter, & trucks drive across the ice to Russia & back. Apologies for the small size, but that's what the lab in Ulan Bator developed the film & scanned it as. (587p)

Hello Chris,

very interesting shot, very nice too with the balck cows in the FG. Very nice tnedrs green colors too and beautiful reflections in the lake. I like too the sky with very curious and plesant clouds.

Beautiful green pastures on the plains of Mongolia! It is a magnificent scenery with yaks grazing near the lake. Very good colors well contrasted, excellent light and great reflections.

Hi Chris,

The reflections on the water of the lake are assets to the composition. The group of yaks has an effect of scale. The point of view leads my eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The cloudy sky is sending a light which is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

I have read, in 1970th this yaks was taken from Canada to Siberia. But I never seen this animals. Interesting landscape, this is untypical Mongolia.

Interesting shot...without the yaks, this would have been a beautiful picture as well, but with them, there's an added dimesion. Lovely colours and reflection in the lake...a very painting like feeling in this shot. Well done
