Photographer’s Note

An older photo taken at Palm Beach in Sydney. The swells were large after a few days of storms. Several surfboards were broken in front of our eyes this day. When i was a surfie they cost around $150, now the modern ones are $1,000 each.

The workshop is the photo planned to post today showing how rough and foamy some of these waves were.

Hello Murray

Nice capture, but most successful surf images are more closer in. Showing more detail of the water and the rider. I would like to see some zoomed in images while panning. I am not experience in this type of photography. Maybe I am wrong. Just an observation. Have a nice day Murray

That is rough but yet nothing compared to what we saw on TV a couple weeks ago from the guys in Tasmania! Well done.

Excellent action capture. Good composition, I always like to see the action traveling from right to left, seems smoother somehow.
That sure was a big day.

1000 dollars per wooden (well, partly) board - what a world, ha!
Great work - quite dynamic shot, waves for sure were quite impressive!

Hi Murray,

A good capture of the surfer which is moving with the wave and of the other surfer covered by the wave. My eye are drawn toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. The liminosity is enhancing the different tints of colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Very dynamic and expressive picture. Well chosen moment and composition of the capture. I like the color variety of water and the play of light. Excellent sporting shot!
