Photographer’s Note

Cook’s bay with Mount Mouaroa (center) and Mount Rotui (right).
Moorea is a high island in French Polynesia, part of the Society Islands, 17 km (roughly 9mi) northwest of Tahiti. Because of its stunning scenery and accessibility to Papeete, Moorea is visited by many western tourists who travel to French Polynesia. Especially popular as a honeymoon destination, Moorea can often be seen in advertisements in American wedding magazines.
From above, the shape of the island vaguely resembles a heart, with its two nearly symmetrical bays opening to the north side of the island: Cook's (or Paopao) Bay and Opunohu Bay. The island was formed as a volcano 1.5 to 2.5 million years ago, the result of a geologic hotspot in the mantle under the oceanic plate that formed the whole of the Society Archipelago. It is theorized that the current bays were formerly river basins that filled during the Holocene searise.

Hi Leonor, what a breathtaking view of this tropical island. Your positioning of the palm trees along the coast, the cotton-like clouds caressing the peaks of the hills and also the turquoise coloured water... Every detail looks wonderful. Kind regards, Tolga

Bonjour Leonor ,
C'est toujours , pour la plupart d'entre nous , une image de paradis . En ces journées grises et maussades , ça fait du bien de voir cela . La composioon est interessante , et le gros nuage qui coiffe le sommet de la montagne est superbe .

Que paradisiaco lugar, la composicion es preciosa con esas verdes montañas y los atractivos bungalows sobre un mar de un precioso verde-azul.

que espetáculo bonito. O destaque fica para a nuvem exótica no pico da montanha a direita.
Seu enquadramento também está excelente, mostrando a tonalidade bonita da água, bem como das rochas junto a margem.
Aguardemos agora, as bonitas fotos de Alagoas. DE 29 de novembro a 06 de dezembro também tentarei fazer bons registros de Pernambuco.

Só estive em Tahiti mas certamente que gostaria de voltar e dar uma volta pelas outras ilhas. Talvez um dia isso aconteça.

As cores ficaram excelentes, com destaque para o verde e o azul refletidos na água. Até as nuvens te ajudaram nessa perfeita composição, ficando em uma posição bem interessante atrás do monte à direita. Belíssimo trabalho! Parece um paraíso esse lugar!

nice scenery. The mountains are nice, great to see the colour of water. Nicely composed with use palm trees in left. The matter I like most here is the effect of clouds. It really sleeps over the top of the mountains and covered the place. Light and colours are superb. Very well done. Tfs.

A lovely place, a typical South Seas paradise!
Wonderful rich colours tell about sufficient supply of water (rain), but still it is the sunny blue sky that stays in our heads...

une scène très tropicale dans laquelle on appréciera le moment choisi avec ce délicieux nuage qui enrobe le sommet de ces montagnes. pas question de faire des photos dpuis la-bas.
