Photographer’s Note

The second in a short series of photographs taken close to the village where I live whilst walking the dog on a warm and sunny afternoon in late October.

In the foreground are the stalks left behind from the recent harvesting of the maize crop. These have since been ploughed into the ground.

Hi Stephen,
Not many colours available at this time of the year, but you show a fine constellation of those at hand. The line of different types of trees separates nicely the blue sky with the light brown field. Looks a pleasant day for walking the dog!

Yes, that's autumn - but I always again like the combination of brown and blue - as in your photo. The slight diagonal works well here - it creates something like a bit of dynamics. Autumn like this really is beautiful - but ...

Hi Stephen, I like the texture of the maize in the FG and also that of the trees in the BG. The muted hues of the crops contrast extremely well against the deep blue sky. Your lucky dog, he goes on the most beautiful walks around the countryside. TFS and have a happy day, Lisa

Bonjour, cher Stephen,
L'automne à par ses sautes de vent ont effeuillé de nombreux arbres. Seules certaines espèces plus résistantes gardent encore leurs feuilles pour prendre le temps de se colorer selon leur humeur. Belle plaine qui devrait séduire de nombreux chasseurs ou du moins de belles promenades avec un chien.

Petit à petit la campagne du Poitou-Charentes se dénude et devient triste, sauf le jour de ta prise de vue, où la clarté était très agréable. Un bonne image qui me rapproche de chez moi, merci. Bravo.

Nice landscape. The foreground looks nice with the stalks while green in middle and nice blue sky in background. Composition is great with nice light. Sharp shot with nice coloured layers. Tfs.

un beau paysage sous un magnifique ciel bleu. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs chaudes très bien rendues. Belle profondeur de champ avec une composition très graphique où verticalité et horizontalité s'équilibrent.
