Twenty (Winds) of Freedom Photo

Photographer’s Note

Title is a joke with the Italian word "Vénti" (Twenty) and the word "Venti" (Winds), without the accent as usual.

This is the "Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti", Piazza di Spagna in Rome. In order to celebrate the event the Municipality have organized one exposition and some concerts.

This is a nice composition with a strong and dominating colour (blue).

avrei detto che era una foto proprio scattata a Berlino .. invece...bravo Vinicio, hai ricreato un'atmosfera che deconstestualizza totalmente la foto, grazie ad un'ottima e non facile gestione della luce.

Eccolo quà, il Vinicio cha sa sempre stupire con la sua vena creativa! :-)
A parte l'importante significato storico-sociale della foto, ciò che colpisce subito l'occhio sono i piacevoli contrasti cromatici alternati allo sfondo nero. Una foto difficile da fare non solo per l'ottima qualità, ma soprattutto per come l'hai realizzata.

interesting shot, Vinicio, I think it conveys very well that this wall is one of a kind, and deserves to be a main subject in a photo. neon lights add otherwordly feel to the scene, and composition with the curves of the steps in the foreground works very well. I'm not sure about the window on the far left, on the hand it feels completely out of place, but on the other hand - just right exactly because it is so different compared to the rest of the shot, it's light feels much more homey than the cool blue and purple.

A really intriguing photo - even in the small version. The chosen angle creates a wonderful depth and these "cool" colours surrounded by darkness are simply fascinating. The window left hand with its warm light is an amazing contrast here.
