Photographer’s Note

This view is taken near the tunnel of Saint Albin. This underground channel connects two arms of the Saone. It is 681m long and wide 6.55M.

It was built under Napoleon III. Work began in 1843, but were arrested in 1853 and 1854. The recovery of these and became complete in 1880.

Here is one arm of the saone where boats cannot
navigate. I'll post a photo soon of the underground channel wich is very impressive. in the meantime I hope you'll enjoy this one.
