Photographer’s Note

The first in a short series of photographs taken close to the village where I live whilst walking the dog on a warm and sunny afternoon in late October.

The Seugne is an 82.4 kilometre (51.2 miles) long river in the Charente-Maritime département, in western France, a left tributary of the Charente. Its source is in the commune of Montlieu-la-Garde. It flows generally north-northwest.

North from Colombiers, the Seugne splits into several branches, the main one flowing into the Charente close to Courcoury, and the others 3, 4, 6 and 7 kilometres downstream at Courcoury and Les Gonds.
