Photographer’s Note
In September 2009
This replica of the original s.s.Bounty made a vist to Greenock. This is the ship that was used in the film.
The original s.s.Bounty was made famous by the film,
Mutiny on the Bounty 1962 staring Marlon Brando, Trevor Howard as Captain Bligh.
This ship is slighly larger built, with modern navigation, engine, better livings quarters I believe.
She is under the American flag.

Hello Robert,
Was this boat built in the true dimensions of the Bounty? I visited the landing place of Captain Bligh, in Tahiti. There is a monument marking this landing, in Matavai bay. I like this story. Great capture, excellent color and details.
Have a nice day

Hello Robert,
I remember seeing the film at the cinema when it first came out - showing my age ;-) I like the point of view you have chosen to put the emphasis on the ship, though I think I would clone out the yellow stanchion in the foreground as it tends to draw the eye away from the subject. Good colours and sharpness. Cool and dry here at the moment after a couple of days of heavy showers with more expected.

Hi Robert
I didn't see this movie. This boat is really interesting. The tangled of ropes criates a graphic effect in the photo.

Hello Robert,
I like your pov and composition here with the prow? creating a diagonal line to top right corner.I agree with TE member snunney about the yellow thing bottom left and perhaps its a little OE. But nonetheless, a pleasing picture for me as I love to see these old ships. The masts, riggings etc have such romance about them.As a little girl I used to try to copy pictures of clippers in full sail and have liked the look of them ever since.
best regards,
Bev
