Photographer’s Note

- In my region – Provins Medieval City – Gathered on the same photo, the two major monuments of the city, The Caesar Tower and Saint-Quiriace Collegiate - Dating the 12th and 11th century this tower and this Collegiate are located at the top of the hill on which became established the city. Provins is located about 70 kilometres from Paris, dating former the Middle Ages, it's however in this epoch when it had most notability, after Paris and Rouen, it was the third city of France under the protection of the Champagne Earls, it was famous for its huge fairs. The city is famous for its medieval fortifications, 1200 metres long and including 22 towers in various geometries, the surrounding wall of the high city was constructed from 1226 till 1314. Classified in the worldwide Heritage of the humanity by the UNESCO, Provins preserve today 58 monuments classified or inscribed to the Inventory of Ancient monuments!
