Lucien sur une pente raide et glissante...
Il m'a dit qu'il s'appellait Lucien, à la française.
Il parlait français mais je il n'a jamais mis les pieds en France. Il tenait beaucoup à poser mais avait du mal à ouvrir les yeux ;))).

Le tilt est naturel : cette rue qui relie Avenida de la Liberdade et Bairro Alto est difficile à monter et encore plus difficile à descendre...C'est pour ça ce trajet est desservi par le furniculaire.
He said his name was Lucien, "à la française".
He spoke French but he has never been in France. He would pose for me for a long time but he had a lot difficulty opening his eyes ;))).

The tilt is natural: that street linking the Avenida de Liberdade and Bairro Alto is difficult to get up and even harder to get down ... That's why this way is served by the furniculaire.

Hello Grazyna,
Another perfect b&w portrait with nice pov and good layout.
I like the slightly tilted background which helps to give a nice graphism.

the expressiveness of your portraits never ceases to impress me - Lucien being only the (currently) last one of your powerful Lisbon series.
I am sure he wold have been a great model even with his eyes closed =)

You know there are people who read you notes and want all of it in english..very few have similar tastes grazyna..wish i can make the most out of enjoying your posts...that only possible if the entire note is in english :) (apart from polish of course )

yes...the intensity..the eyes..you seem to magnetically attracted to your subjects..perhaps an element missing in the compostion..there seems an emptiness..dont you think ?

Quelle superbe tête, parfaitement éclairée en plus.
Un visage buriné par la fatigue et le soleil.
Le cadrage est parfait,l'arrière plan est juste là pour accompagner cette Gueule.

no i to mi sie podoba... portugalia jest pełna interesujących twarzy o pozornie dziwnych rysach... lubie te twarze oglądac na zdjęciach.... a takie radykalne usytułowanie modela w rogu - bardzo jestem na tak!

Sama uwielbiam takie uklady portretow do "boku" wiec zgrzeszylabym wybrzydzajac.. Portet jest ekspresyjny, wspolpraca udana, spadek ulicy dodaje swoistosci (to o czym gdzies ciagle rozmawiamy - smak geograficznego genius loci).. ale, ze lekko sie poskarze, bardzo fajnie byloby na drugim planie tej precyzyjnie zakomponowanej sceny, cos jeszcze uchwycic.. a ptak by przelecial.. a kot by sie umyl.. najlepiej na skraju tej skrzynki od strony lampy.. to by sie pieknie ukladanka zamknela i dala nam glebszy, dodatkowy sens.. No ale ta pierwsza warstwa i tak jest fajna, wiec juz nie przesadzam z perfekcjonizmem..
