Perhaps the most spectacular lookout in the Danube valley is the "Eichfelsen" at Irndorf. With some luck you can have some unforgettable moments in the early morning hours when thick fog is still wafting through the valley. This is a picture taken at 7:10 a.m. at dawn. Due to the long exposure time (52,5 seconds) the fog appears like a turbulent river. This image is the beginning of a new series with different shots of this beautiful autumn morning on the Eichfelsen. To be continued ...

Der vielleicht spektakulärste Aussichtspunkt im Donautal ist der Eichfelsen bei Irndorf. Am schönsten ist es hier in den frühen Morgenstunden, wenn der Nebel noch im Tal wabert. Dieses Bild wurde um 7.10 Uhr in der frühen Dämmerung aufgenommen. Durch die lange Belichtungszeit (52,5 Sekunden) wirkt der Nebel wie ein reißender Fluss. Dieses Bild ist zugleich der Auftakt zu einer neuen Serie mit verschiedenen Aufnahmen von diesem herrlichen Herbstmorgen auf dem Eichfelsen. Fortsetzung folgt ...

Hallo Helmut,

wie schon einmal erwähnt, es gibt Stellen die zeihen einem magisch immer wieder an, zumal wenn sich solch tolle Ansichten präsentieren..
52 Sekunden, das ist ja eine halbe Ewigkeit!!
Aber das Resultat spricht für sich und ist Dir sehr gut gelungen.. freue mich schon auf weitere Bilder..

Helmut und das Donautal....
Danke für Deine tollen Bilder von dort und die Ausdauer für dieses.
Der Nebel scheint wirklich zu fließen und mir gefällt der Effekt an den Wolken,dank der langen Belichtungszeit.

It was very worth the effort to get up that early wasn't it!
the long exposure time made for an outstanding display of colours and fog, creating an errie ghostly mood.

Hi Helmut,
Blue hour gives a beautiful colour to that low floating fog too. Long exposure also shows motion of clouds nicely. Impressive scene.

I have a vindow with view in my bedroom and it is interesting to watch the way fog in the valleys can swap in few minuts, even when the sun go up the fog swap faster. here we have a similar view, the sense of movement is evident. interesting use of the light. well done
