MOURNING IN ANDORRA - NO POINTS Photo

Photographer’s Note

Today I must do a pause in the answers to yours always nice critical to my last published photo.

My dear Andorra, the beautiful country between mountains, is of mourning, a tragic accident in one of its more important public works at present, has caused till now 5 dead men and 6 injured men in critical state.

The viaduct of exit of the tunnel of the "Two Valiras", which communicates the valley of the "Valira d'Orient" and the valley of the "Valira del Nord", has collapsed for still unknown reasons, producing this victims' fatal result among its workers. Whenever I'm going to Arinsal I pass really next to these works.

This photo taken from a hill placed exactly over the works of the viaduct, only wants to be a humble honoring to these victims, and also to the whole Principality of Andorra.

Hoy debo hacer una pausa en las respuestas a vuestras siempre amables críticas a mi última foto publicada.

Mi querida Andorra, aquel bello país entre montañas, está de luto, un trágico accidente en una de sus obras públicas más importantes en la actualidad, ha causado hasta ahora 5 muertos y 6 heridos en estado crítico.

El viaducto de salida del túnel de los “Dos Valiras”, que comunica el valle del “Valira d’Orient” y el valle del “Valira del Nord”, ha colapsado por causas todavía desconocidas, produciendo este fatal resultado de víctimas entre sus trabajadores. Cada vez que voy a Arinsal yo paso justo al lado de estas obras.

Esta foto tomada desde una colina justo por encima de las obras del viaducto, quiere ser un humilde homenaje a estas víctimas, y también a todo el Principado de Andorra.

Quand j'ai entendu cette catastrophe hier à la radio, j'ai immédiatement pensé à toi.
C'est un bel hommage que tu rends aux victimes de cet accident avec cette lumière étrange entre jour et nuit qui s'infiltre entre les montagnes, et ce mélange de clarté dans le ciel et de brume sur la terre... un peu comme ce passage si fragile entre la vie et la mort qui nous guette tous.

I saw pictures from this accident yesterday, in news and papers, a terrible tragedy!
As I understand it is hard to say what really happened, let us hope they soon will find out...
And the image is a lovely tribute to beautiful Andorra...!

a very good presentation of those mountains. It's is great simply because of the layers of it. Nice smoky looks of the background mountains and darker towards FG. Lice soft tone here due to nice light management. Very well done. Tfs.

Cette photo est un bel hommage aux victimes de ce terrible accident. Le présent pour les familles doit sembler aussi sombre que le premier plan de ta photo, il reste l'espoir que les chrétiens appellent l'espérance symbolisé ici par ce ciel lumineux.

Hi Josep,
Thanks for your feelings. The dead and injured workers were Portuguese immigrants. That's a sad fate that they immigrated to search a better life for their families and this tragic event happened.

Buenas dias Josep,
a real tragedy with so many people dead and 6 more injured men in critical state. Unfortunately accidents under these circumstances are more serious than other accidents.I like this mountains scape view in the morning haze.

Bonjour Josep,

Malheureusement des accidents qui arrivent, rarement, mais qui arrivent et laissent des familles endueillées et dans la tristesse. J'ai connu le cas sur un ouvrage d'art également sur un chantier TGV qui a coûté la vie à deux personnes. Bel hommage à ces victimes par cette photo que tu leur dédies et toute ma sympathie aux familles des disparus.
