Nefertiti was the Great Royal Wife of Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten, circa 1370 to 1330 BC. Together they built a new capitol at Akhetaten, now named Amarna. She may have been elevated to equal ruling status with Akhenaten as evident in art carvings on temple walls.

A famous relief from the temple at Amarna details Nefertiti smiting a foreign enemy with a mace before Aten, the sun god. This relief is in Boston's Museum of Fine Art.
