Playing In Hills Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took it just before reaching Kalipokhri. A pleasant place to see and it is on the trek route of Sandakphu and Phalut. Sandakphu is about 6 km from here.
In the way we found the childrens were playing together. It was about 2-30 pm of noon. But the fog started to cover the entire area. The children were playing and some were passing their time by taking a small nap. The atmosphere was so cheerful with their activities. We asked them about the cottage of 'Pema Didi' ( as we fixed it earlier as our night staying cottage ). They whispered and one guided our vision to a certain place. After reaching the cottage we heard that she was died last December. After some time we discover that the man taking nap is the husband of Pema didi and two of those childrens are her off springs and the rest are her relatives.
Now I am sharing the playing scene with you. Hope you like it.

That must be cold, at least all the people in the picture feel like that. The mist in the BG adds some mystic to the shot, which already looks interesting just because everything seems to be gray. I really do not know how you made this kind of color, but it has been there. The sharpness is a bit flow, but the pictures has such a lot of atmosphere. Well done

The partial desaturation creates an interesting effect in the image, in which the children and the resting men are outlined due to the vivid colors in his clothes.

Hello Subhendu,
This is my kind of picture, I like the casual atmosphere, where the local villagers and children are just enjoying themself playing or working, I think I know what they playing here. I use to loved it as a kid. I Like your treatment to the photo, but I don't think it is really necessary. It would be just as beautiful as it is naturally. The sharpness and clarity is a bit soft but that doesn't really mater here it is the spontaneous moment and joy from the people that make this photo a good one for me.

Did you desaturate the land or it was the fog who gave you that gray colour? Most likely it's the first...
Well the idea is not bad but you were too hasty to shoot: you cropped the feet of the boy in fg. I think you should have taken a picture of them while they where walking, it would have been more natural.
