Photographer’s Note
Near Stovepipe Wells (wells in pipe of stove), on road 190, are the famous dunes of mesquite which attract many photographers, especially to the sunset. There exists other dunes in the park, but these last are attended. They are the result of accumulation of rock particles torn off with the surrounding assembly lines, by the agents erosion. Sand is transported by the wind, and the dune solid masses are mobile. Researchers come to study the “song of the dunes there”, be-with-to say the noise caused by the displacement of the grains of sand under effect of the wind. (Wikipedia Source)
