Photographer’s Note
On my second trip to Turkey, my main goal was to cover as much of the area of Cappadocia, I could, mostly in Nevsehir (in greek "Νεάπολις"="Neapolis") Prefecture, but I also visited and stayed for a couple of days in nearby prefectures, including Kayseri (in greek "Καισάρεια"="Kesaria"), a rapidly developing city, a great industrial and econopical power.
One of its sights that I liked the most, was the Bedesten, the old covered market, constructed on 1497. It is attached to the much bigger and newer, Covered Market ("Kapali Carsi")of Kayseri, a real labyrinth, which is the fourth largest covered market in Turkey. Inside the Bedesten you will mostly see carpet and kilim shops, and also some wool warehouses.

Hello Hercules,

Hello Dear Hercules,
You are becoming quite a Turkey connoisseur. This is a beautifully composed shot, with well managed light. It reveals the labyrinth like structure, both in size and structure. Warm regards from Virginia,

hi, Hercules,
this is a good example photo to show how to manage indoor light (the light bulbs) and natural light (light through windows). i didn't see anything wrong with White balance with these 2 types of lights in this photo. good sharpen on the stones (ceilings). i especial like you keep those windows in this photo.

Good evening, Hercules,
This is a superb indoor shot! The light is managed perfectly, the colours very natural and rich, and the sharpness is great. No tripod, you have a steady hand! The POV is great, showing so much of the merchandise. I also like the alternative POV, where the hall is shown in all its beauty.
But did someone drop a neutron bomb in this place or has the economic crisis reached the Turkish rug market? Where are all the customers and, for that matter, all the vendors?
Have a nice evening! Dasha

Hi Hercules,
A fine composition.
I like the architecture here
with lot of arches all joined
together. The carpets decorates
this image with lovely colours.
The sky lights are are an asset,
brightening up the domes.
Have a nice weekend.

Bien visto!

A marvellous display of colour against the medieval backdrop of the old walls. I would have expected to see more people here but you picked just the right time to take this shot.

Bonjour Hercules.

Buen trabajo.
Cordialmente.
Luis.
