I took these picture during a stroll along this wonderful area, one of the most beautiful areas in Flemish Belgium.
This where a lot painters everyday make lovely paintings.

In the summer months July and August you can sail to your heart's content during the summer cruises on the Lys, the Scheldt and the channels. The theme of the story is the Lys, the French and Flemish Lys connects. Additionally you can also discover the Flemish side of the Scheldt, and the canal Roeselare-Leie canal Bossuit-Kortrijk.

A fine composition captured under a very pleasing ambient light and all the elements nicely placed. I like the perspective along the path with the dappled light through the trees. Also, the lovely reflections. Superb natural colours, very evocative of autumn, and excellent sharpness.

Hi John,

The reflections on the water of the river are assets to the composition. The trees are framing well the rivers and the boat. The point of view takes my eyes toward the trees in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The afternoon light is enhancing the colors. have a nice day.

Hallo Johjn, Een mooi en vredig beeld van de Leie. De kleuren zijn mooi en gesatureerd. Persoonlijk had ik een beetje meer detail in de schaduwpartijen willen zien.
Het 'Carper'-formaat doet het hier wel goed.

Hi John,
Some paint with pencils on canvas, you do it with a camera and bits with no less beauty. A simple scene, wonderful light, a masterful composer and photographer that knows everything about taking profit of the light, voilà the ingredients to a great image.

Good shadow detail on the path at left, which also adds good lead in lines. Nice reflections of the boat at right, with superb warm cold colour contrasts between the red, yellow, & blue. Tfs!

Une image qui semblait difficile à exposée. Les zones d'ombres t'ont obligées à surexposer le bateau qui semble être trop lumineux.
Dans tout les cas, un endroit très sympa. Il doit être agréable de se promener sur ces bateaux le long de ces canaux.

Le mois d'octobre nous réserve parfois de bien jolis moments ensoleillés.
Très belle mise en image de cet ancien chemin de halage (du moins, je le présume) et de cette vedette profitant de merveilleux paysages dispensés par cette voie navigable.

Dag John. Heel aantrekkelijke foto. Het lijkt zelfs nog zomer. Het pad maakt een heerlijke kromming; de boot op de voorgrond reflecteerd perfect in het stille water. Dit is ongetwijfeld een mooi plekje om te wandelen/fietsen. groetjes.

This is a well composed shot wit the path leading the eye int the scene. The trees frame the scene nicely and the reflection provides depth and balance for the scene. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

It is a nice thing the canal has a parallel path for bikes and pedestrians!
This is a picturesque scene clearly marked by autumn as the foliage is starting turn yellow...
