Photographer’s Note
This is Berat in ccentral Albania, a town declared by the UNESCO as a world heritage because of its great number of well kept Ottoman houses, mosques, churches and a large fortress.
Most of the old town consists of residential houses among a maze of narrow, twisted lanes of cobbled stones.

Good morning Gert!
Here you have had a wonderful - but difficult - light and this photo really takes advantage from it. The chosen composition also is very appealing as especially the pavement is. A special place indeed ...
Greetings from very autumnal Germany" - rain, rain, rain ...

Hej Gert,
A very attractive natural frame (of vine?) around this motive. The man here is very nicely placed against the gate behind him and the paving stones in the middle of the alley are leading the eye in an elegant way. I have looked at Berat on Google Maps, but I´m not really sure where this could be.

Hi, Gert -
Interesting place; it goes on my (already too long) list of places to go see. Nice use of the leaves for framing, and generally good lighting. There was probably no way to avoid the blownout wall, though some brushwork might help repair it.
Best,
Dan

Hello Gert,
the foliage that acts a a frame is nicely lit to show off the lovely greenery. This is a well balanced composition with the interesting cobbled pathway leading into and through the scene.Of course the man is a welcome extra to complete he motif.
best regards,
Bev

Hi Gert, fine composition indeed. Inclusion of the man really works well.. Technically all good too. Were you there on holiday? I've never known anyone that has been there - what's Albania like? Cheers, Steve

Great picture from Berat, Gert. The apparition of the man is important for the composition. The small passage is nice seen from the top. Your pictures from Berat and the pictures of Aleks make nice story about that charming village. All sompliments and friendship,

Hi Gert,
I like the framing in the picture. This picture also tells me that it is not that easy living in these houses. You have to walk to get anywhere and it is usually either uphill or downhill! My fafourite spots however are those stones serving as sitting stools for ladies to sit and do all their knitting works (and gossipping of course!).

Hej Gert,
this is a beautiful image and Berat must be a lovely place (I have seen all the other images here and I am delighted to find such a place in Albania). The very slow moving man plays an important role here; one can almost feel his considerations! Excellent photo work, especially the framing and the management of the light are very good. TFS!
Warm regards

Good morning Gert
interesting photo
the trees and branches make for a natural border and framing of your subject.
and the lighter colored stones lead the viewers eyes to its main subject.
Very well observed
Have a great day

Gosh I actually missed this during my last seep-through. Wonderful everyday moment and the contrast with the age-old enduring architecture. Such pictures make us really feel ephemeral.

I was first attracted to this because of the cobblestone streets, which I love!! Very nice pov and detail. A lovely place! TFS
