Photographer’s Note
Trisikad (try-see-cad) means tricycle here in southern Philippines. The ride cost only USD 0.16 for the first 200 yards. They are "King of the Road" here. They can go against a one-way traffic, enter a No-Entry street, can cross a six-lane highway without blinking their eyes, makes a U-Turn anytime they want while crossing a yellow solid line and can practically park anywhere. They don't have licenses and still can give a heart-warming smile with the traffic policemen. I asked one trisikad driver why they do it. He just gave me a silly grin and told me: "I have a family with five kids and this is better than stealing or robbing a bank"!
